Underwriter, Personal Lines (Finance)



Are you looking for new opportunities? We're looking for a Personal Lines Underwriter to join our team at Westland Insurance Group Ltd. in Surrey, BC. In this role, you'll represent Westland by working closely with our internal BC brokers to assess and manage risk levels associated with insurance policies. Your expertise will help ensure we provide the right coverage solutions for our clients.

Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $47,500 to $59,400 with a 35-hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.

  • You have at least 2-3 years of underwriting experience

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with brokers and insurance partners to evaluate risks
  • Assess applications from internal brokers and apply appropriate underwriting terms
  • Conduct file reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively while contributing to process improvements
  • Learn from and support senior team members as you develop your underwriting skills
