Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (Maintenance)

Job Description and Responsibilities

At Interpro Pipe and Steel, we manufacture engineered steel products for rail, energy and industrial end markets at four production sites located in Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan; Calgary, Camrose and Red Deer, Alberta). We hold leading positions in the Western Canada oil country tubular goods, small diameter pipe and West Coast plate markets.

Reporting to the Director, Maintenance Operations Regina, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor oversees the installation, repair, and upkeep of mechanical systems and leads the maintenance team to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of maintenance staff to ensure timely, high-quality work.

  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machinery, equipment, and systems.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance, training programs and schedules to enhance equipment reliability and safety.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.

  • Assisting in procuring, organizing, and inventorying parts and materials needed for repairs

  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance tasks and minimize operational disruptions.

  • Provide training, guidance, and performance management for maintenance team members.

  • Document maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and generate technical reports.

  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the mechanical field, or a completed accredited apprenticeship/ Journeyperson;

  • 5 years of experience in a mechanical maintenance role and 2-5 years' supervisory or lead experience in a union environment preferred

  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, pressure vessels, motorized drive systems

  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Procedures as to safely isolate and secure equipment during maintenance or repair

  • Proficient in blueprint reading, P&ID and troubleshooting of mechanical operations of equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and personnel scheduling

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Must be available and flexible to be on call and work weekends when required

  • Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions
