POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Globe and Mail Centre is looking for a dynamic and driven Sales Manager to join our talented team. This acclaimed events venue services a wide range of corporate, private and Globe-produced events for up to 400 guests. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive, a passion for events, and a meticulous attention to detail.

The Sales Manager plays a critical role securing event rental business through the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Manager will work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required. This is a full-time role based out of our office in Toronto.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive revenue by developing and executing strategic sales plans, prospecting new business, and converting leads into bookings.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service and tailored event solutions.
  • Represent the venue at trade shows, networking events, and client functions to grow brand visibility and client base.
  • Create compelling sales materials and manage digital content to support outreach and engagement.
  • Prepare accurate proposals, contracts, and invoices while maintaining CRM data integrity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance offerings, resolve client issues, and ensure seamless event execution.
  • Supervise support staff and coordinate with vendors and partners as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven success in high-volume venue or event sales with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and social media platforms.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (i.e. evenings and weekends, as required) consistent with event industry demands.

SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

VACCINATION POLICY:  


All offers of employment with The Globe and Mail are conditional upon the candidate being Fully Vaccinated.
