Life Cycle and Materiel Manager (LCMM) – Naval Architecture Specialist
Position Summary
Thales Canada is looking for a Life Cycle and Materiel Manager (LCMM) – Naval Architecture (Hull) Specialist to support its non-Combatant In-Service Support Programs for the Royal Canadian Navy.
The LCMM – Naval Architecture Specialist is responsible for engineering support and technical oversight of various hull systems and fittings on board the AOPS and JSS class ships, including but not limited to hull and marine systems, including mooring and anchoring systems, outfittings, marine structure and coatings, propulsion systems, lifesaving equipment, and lifting appliances. Accountable to the Operational Support Manager and working directly with various internal and external stakeholders, this role manages various activities to establish and maintain the configuration and design intent of the marine auxiliary and other mechanical systems on the ships and manage any changes through their end-of-life and divestment.
The successful candidate will leverage their existing knowledge and expertise in marine mechanical systems and equipment to become a subject matter expert and main point of contact for all technical matters associated with the systems assigned thereto. The principal objective is to maximize effectiveness and efficiency, while minimizing the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) associated with the support of their systems.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The key functions and areas of responsibility for the LCMM – Naval Architecture Specialist include but is not limited to:
Minimum Requirements
3-year technical program diploma (for Technologists) or 2-year technical program diploma (for Technicians) in a marine technical field offered by a recognized technical institute; or
Certified a technologist or technician by a recognized provincial, state, or federal (national) licensing body in a relevant field or certified body; or
Certified as one of the following trades of the Canadian Armed Forces:Marine Technician RQ-PO1 or RQ-PO2
QL7 Marine Engineer
QL 6A or 6B Hull Technician

The reference Total Target Compensation(TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between
Total Target Cash (TTC): 76,208.54 - 101,611.38 - 128,924.64 CAD AnnualThis reflects how companies in a similar industry and geographic region generally pay for similar jobs. This range helps the Company make pay decisions as one data point among many. Where a position falls within this range is also dependent on other factors including – but not limited to – the employee's career path history, competencies, skills, and performance, as well as the company's annual salary budget, the customer's program requirements, and the company's internal equity. Thales may offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, state, or federal law.
